This association allows you to get certified not only as a qualified Marine Guide, but also as a qualified Open Water Scuba Diver. You can now accompany your guests on the ultimate Beach and Bush Experience, adding valuable versatility as a guide to your resume! As one of Africa's best PADI training centres (Coral Divers), this also opens up another career-path should you decide to spend more time under water.
The Coral Reefs of Sodwana Bay rank amongst one of the Top 10 Global Dive sites and will definitely add a special kind of magic to your training experience. Potato Bass, Guineafowl Eel, Clown Trigger Fish, Parrot Fish, Wrasses, Angel Fish and Two-bar Anemone Fish are amongst some of the species you can expect to encounter. The Coastal Sand and Dune Forests of Northern KwaZulu Natal's Elephant Coast is the venue for this exciting programme. This unique area contains 5 different mangrove species, one of which is endemic to the area. This offers the opportunity to see the resident Mangrove Kingfishers ( of which there are only 30 breeding pairs left in SA), the Palmnut Vulture, Livingstone's Turaco as well as a wealth of other seabirds, that roam this area. Already famous for its turtle-nesting sites, the area also offers the special opportunity to observe Leatherback and Loggerhead Turtles during their annual nesting and hatching cycles.
The training camps are situated in and around the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, a world heritage site with a biodiversity greater than that of the Kruger National Park, or the Okavango Delta.
The Bhejane Nature Training Camp in False Bay serves as the base for the duration of the course. From here we go on various excursions to explore the entire coastline of the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park. Field Excursions include Kosi Bay, Sodwana Bay, St. Lucia.
