Feedback from Students, Parents and our Industry Partners...
Being a 3 year student from 2017-2019 @ Bhejane, I can highly recommend this program to all! Besides the excellent education, system, the thing that stands out to me be about this place is the energy, and it is highly contagious! In my 2 years I spent on campus, I saw so many new students arrive and I saw all of them leaving as a different person, almost 100% of them as better people. Bhejane doesn't just teach students about nature, this is a place where it's almost certain you will discover a different side of yourself. A more beautiful side of not just yourself but also about nature, life and other people! If I can do it all over again, I would! Thank you Dylan and Christa for good service throughout.
At Bhejane Nature Training students are given the perfect environment and opportunity to learn about nature, guiding and conservation. The base camp is on a private reserve near Hluhluwe where structured classroom and practical lessons take place. Here students learn not only from the knowledgeable instructors but also from the more advanced students in camp. Practical sessions are conducted in a tented bush camp on a beautiful big 5 Resort in far northern KZN which imprints on your soul. The owners of this training school have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry and their passion and dedication to sharing this knowledge knows no bounds. I am proud to be a former Bhejane student and am forever grateful for my experience there and the knowledge I gained there. Living is Learning!
Having interviewed and employed many young guides over the past few years the candidates coming from Bhejane, and especially their 3year course is definitely a class above the rest. The commitment to guiding as a career vs gap year option is reassuring.
The best decision I've ever made was to attend Bhejane Nature Training. Great atmosphere and amazing people!
Best decision I ever made coming to this place, what a life with good people that are brilliant at what they are doing. I will recommend any body to come and enjoy what Bhejane has to offer.
Hi Christa. It is great here with work experience. I did my first lecture today which was interesting and fun...I managed to survive it. Darren has his tomorrow and he is a little arthous :)). We have both settled in well though. Plenty of great sightings especially with the Wild dog. I am seeing how the course has made a difference to what I know as opposed to doing only basic FGASA requirements. I wanted to thank you for an exceptional time which I will never forget. I still remember filling out the application form on my corrputer, full of excitement and anticipation, wondering what I was getting myself into. I have a lot of respect for you and Dylan, and all of the instructors, especially Pieter, and am proud to say that I trained under the Bhejane name.
Its really interesting learning how everything works and how we can make a difference. It's hard work but it will all pay off in the end when we are qualified to do certain things that other people don't have a clue about. I have really enjoyed my whole year at Bhejane and I can thank all the instructors for teaching us all they know and being so passionate in teaching us what they love...
It is good to be back home, but I can't get used to the living here yet. Miss the bush and the rythm of rising and sleeping as nature does. The course has shown me the similarity in natural systems and organizational systems and the possibility to change them or not.
Dear Christa and Dylan. Having been home for a while and digested all our experiences from our recent trip to South Africa, we will send you a big thank you for taking the time to show us around in the "New Bhejane". It was very impressive to see the scale of development you have managed to do in such a short time! Also your quest to make guiding a more permanent career is laudable!
Alter completing a year working as an overland guide I decided to further my guiding and complete my FGASA level 1 qualification. Choosing a training institute was really not tough as I have a love for the Kwa-Zulu Natal coastline and had my heart set on moving up to Zululand. Regrettably I only completed a one month, Level 1 course with Bhejane Nature Training but wish I could have stayed longer. I was really surprised about the amount of knowledge I was able to obtain in such a short period of time and the bonus was that it was not only knowledge of bush that I obtained - it was also the knowledge of what to expect and what is expected from you, once in a working situation, and how to go about your everyday duties.
I came do the FGASA level 1 Nature Guiding course. I left with more than just the qualification but made some amazing friends. This course made me realize what I really want to do with my life. Being a high achiever was never really a strong point for me, but the guidance from the Bhejane lecturers has helped me achieve goals I never thought possible. I am a passionate wildlife videographer and Bhejane Nature Trainings' Marine Course has equipped me with the knowledge I need to be able to take my underwater filming to new heights through having a better understanding on my subjects.
